There are four major disciplines within dental technology. These are fixed prosthesis including crowns, bridges and implants; removable prosthesis, including dentures and removable partial dentures; maxillofacial prosthesis, including ocular prosthesis and craniofacial prosthesis; and orthodontics and auxiliaries, including orthodontic appliances and mouthguards.[
The dentist communicates with the dental technologist with prescriptions, drawings and measurements taken from the patient. The most important aspect of this is a dental impression into which the technologist flows a gypsum dental stone to create a replica of the patient’s anatomy known as a dental cast. A technologist can then use this cast for the construction of custom appliances

Dental impression making is the process of creating a negative form of the teeth and oral tissues, into which gypsum or other die materials can be processed to create working analogues. Contemporary dentistry generates new information every year and digital dentistry is becoming established and influential
Innovative Technology
Digital Impressions (also known as 3-D intraoral scanning) are the latest technology in capturing a replica of the mouth. After taking a scan of the mouth, a dentist can immediately send the digital impression to a lab where dentures, crowns, bridges, and retainers can be made quickly and accurately.

Step 1 – Day 1
Impressions are taken and sent to our team of Technicians at CDT Dental, Hill Top Farm Whitehall Road East, BD11 2LH
Step 2 – Day 2-4
Once the impressions and order form are recieved our technicians get the restorations created
Step 3 – Day 5
Restorations are quality checked by our our team and then delivered back promptly to the dentist
